Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about LiveStop.
Which states and regions does LiveStop support?
LiveStop currently supports public transit in New South Wales (Transport for NSW), Victoria (Public Transport Victoria), South Australia (Adelaide Metro), and South-East Queensland (Translink). We are actively working to expand coverage to additional regions.
How accurate are the arrival times?
Arrival times are sourced directly from each state's official public transport authority and reflect real-time GPS tracking data where available. Accuracy varies by network and service type. Train networks typically have the most reliable real-time data; some bus routes in regional areas may show scheduled times only.
Is LiveStop free to use?
LiveStop is free to download and use. The free version gives you access to all supported transit networks and is supported by in-app ads. If you'd prefer an ad-free experience and the ability to save more favourite stops, a subscription is available through the App Store.
What does the LiveStop subscription include?
Subscribing to LiveStop removes all in-app ads and increases the number of stops and routes you can save as favourites — making it ideal for frequent commuters who rely on LiveStop every day. Subscription pricing and any available free trial are shown in the App Store at checkout. You can cancel at any time through your Apple ID settings.
Do I need to create an account?
No account or sign-up is required. Open the app and it works immediately. Your favourites are stored locally on your device.
Does LiveStop work offline?
Real-time arrival data requires an internet connection. Without connectivity, LiveStop can display your saved favourites but cannot fetch live departure times. Scheduled timetables may be available offline depending on your device's cached data.
How do I add a favourite stop?
Navigate to the stop you want to save (via search or the map), then tap the star icon in the left corner of the stop's departure board. The stop will appear on your home screen for quick access.
Which transport types does the app cover?
LiveStop covers buses, trains, ferries, and light rail (trams) within all supported networks. The specific transport types available depend on the region — for example, ferries are available in NSW and SEQ, while Melbourne trams are covered in Victoria.
Does LiveStop show park and ride availability?
Yes — LiveStop shows real-time car park bay availability at park-and-ride facilities. Open a stop that has a park-and-ride facility and a parking card will appear below the departure board showing live bay availability. This feature is currently available at supported park-and-ride facilities across New South Wales.
Why is a stop or route not showing in my area?
LiveStop covers metropolitan networks within the four supported states. Some rural, regional, or school-only services may not be included. If you believe a stop should be showing but isn't, get in touch and we'll look into it.
How do I report an issue or incorrect information?
Get in touch via our contact page. Please include the stop name, route number, and the date and time of the issue so we can investigate promptly.
Is LiveStop available on Android?
LiveStop is currently available on iOS only. We are evaluating Android support for a future release. If you'd like to be notified when an Android version is available, get in touch.
